What is Digital Marketing?

Digital marketing is a form of marketing that uses digital channels and technologies to promote products or services. It involves using various online platforms and techniques to reach target audiences and convert them into customers. Any marketing that uses electronic devices and can be used by marketing specialists to convey promotional messaging and measure its impact through your customer journey. In practice, digital marketing typically refers to marketing campaigns that appear on a computer, phone, tablet, or other device. It can take many forms, including online video, display ads, search engine marketing, paid social ads and social media posts. Digital marketing is often compared to “traditional marketing” such as magazine ads, billboards, and direct mail. Oddly, television is usually lumped in with traditional marketing.

Types or Sections of Digital Marketing

  1. Search Engine Optimization (SEO). (It has 3 sections & they are On-Page SEO, Of-page SEO & Technical SEO.)

  2. Social Media Marketing (Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram marketing).

  3. Content Marketing.

  4. Affiliate Marketing.

  5. ADS or Digital Advertising (Google, Facebook, YouTube).

  6. Pay Per Click (PPC)

  7. Email Marketing.

These are the main & most used sections of Digital Marketing. Let’s see a short description or introduction among these.


Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the practice of optimizing website content to improve its ranking and visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs). The goal of SEO is to make a website more visible and appealing to search engines, which in turn can increase organic traffic to the site. If you want to watch your website, business website or any digital content related to you, you must have to do optimize them.

Social Media Marketing

Social media marketing (SMM) is the use of social media websites and social networks to market a company’s products and services.”But this definition is missing something really important. Let’s make it more simple and clear: “Social media marketing is the process of creating tailored content for each social media platform to drive engagement and promote your business.”Social media marketing is all about connecting with your audience or customers and helping them understand your brand better. It is incredibly beneficial to your business growth. We use Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter & video sharing platform YouTube as social media. About billions of people worldwide are using various social media platforms. So, it’s most important to achieve your marketing goals via social media.

Content Marketing

Content marketing is a marketing strategy that involves creating and sharing valuable, relevant, and consistent content to attract and retain a clearly defined audience and drive profitable customer action. The goal of content marketing is to provide informative and engaging content that can help potential customers solve problems, answer questions, or learn more about a particular product or service.

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a marketing arrangement in which affiliates receive a commission for each visit, signup or sale they generate for a merchant. This arrangement allows businesses to outsource part of the sales process. It is a form of performance-based marketing where the commission acts as an incentive for the affiliate; this commission is usually a percentage of the price of the product being sold, but can also be a flat rate per referral.


Digital advertising refers to marketing through online channels, such as websites, streaming content, and more. Digital ads span media formats, including text, image, audio, and video. They can help you achieve a variety of business goals across the marketing funnel, ranging from brand awareness to customer engagement, to launching new products and driving repeat sales.

The field of digital advertising is relatively young, in comparison to traditional channels such as magazines, billboards, and direct mail. The evolution of advertising isn’t just about what the ads look like or where they appear, but also the ways they’re built, sold, and measured.

Pay Per Click (PPC):

Pay-per-click is an internet advertising model used to drive traffic to websites, in which an advertiser pays a publisher when the ad is clicked. Pay-per-click is usually associated with first-tier search engines (such as Google Ads, Amazon Advertising, and Microsoft Advertising formerly Bing Ads). With search engines, advertisers typically bid on keyword phrases relevant to their target market and pay when ads (text-based search ads or shopping ads that are a combination of images and text) are clicked.

Email Marketing

Email marketing is a form of marketing that can make the customers on your email list aware of new products, discounts, and other services. It can also be a softer sell to educate your audience on the value of your brand or keep them engaged between purchases. It can also be anything in between. Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail are the most used email platforms in worldwide.
